01The short version
A test can be cancelled at any point before we start work on your sample, and refunded in full — there is no notice period and nothing is held back, not even the home visit charge. Once a sample has been processed, the reagents and analyser time have been consumed and it cannot be refunded — but if something has gone wrong on our side, we repeat the test at no charge.
This policy is effective from 20 August 2026.
02Cancelling a booking
| When you cancel | What happens |
|---|---|
| Any time before your sample is collected | Full refund. No notice period, and nothing is deducted |
| A home visit, even after the phlebotomist has set out | Full refund, including the home collection charge |
| After the sample has been processed | Not refundable — see below |
To cancel, call the lab on 77790 16101. Someone answers 24 hours a day, so there is always a person to tell — you never have to cancel through a form.
03Why we cannot refund a processed sample
Once your sample is loaded onto an analyser, single-use reagents are consumed and cannot be recovered. That is true whether or not you collect the report, which is why a test that has been run is not refundable.
If you booked a package and decide part-way that you want fewer tests, the package price still applies to the tests already run. Package prices are set as a whole and are not unbundled.
04When we repeat a test free of charge
If the fault is ours, you do not pay twice.
- A sample that clots, haemolyses or is insufficient because of our collection
- A result that fails our internal quality control
- A sample lost, mislabelled or damaged in our custody
- A reporting or transcription error on our part
In each case we repeat the test at no charge. Where a fresh sample is needed we will arrange collection, including a home visit at no extra collection charge.
A repeat requested because required preparation was not followed — most often the 10–12 hour fast — is chargeable, because the first result was valid for the sample given.
05How a refund is paid
- Refunds go back by the same method you paid — cash and UPI.
- Cash payments are refunded in cash at the laboratory.
- UPI refunds are processed within 7 working days of the refund being approved. Your bank may take a little longer to show it.
- We do not charge a processing fee on a refund.
Because payment is taken at the laboratory or at the time of collection and never in advance, in practice most cancellations involve no money changing hands at all.
Please bring your receipt where you have one. It makes the whole thing quicker.
06How to raise a refund or a complaint
Call 77790 16101 or email shivamlabmehsana2013@gmail.com with your name, the date of collection and what went wrong. You can also walk into the laboratory.
Every refund request is reviewed by Dr. Sandip P. Patel. If a test needs repeating on clinical grounds, he will say so — and it will be repeated whether or not you asked for a refund.
